STV Inc. $415,000 Washington Pay Transparency Settlement, Applicants May Claim an Estimated $1,592.71 by December 8, 2026
If you applied for a Washington job with STV Incorporated or STV Construction, Inc. between January 1, 2023 and July 26, 2025, you may be able to claim an estimated $1,592.71 from a proposed pay transparency settlement worth up to $415,000. The claim deadline is December 8, 2026.
The lawsuit alleges the companies advertised Washington jobs without the wage scale or salary range that Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act requires. STV denies violating the law, and the court has not ruled on the allegations.
The settlement is not final. The court will decide on final approval at a hearing on February 12, 2027 at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, and nothing will be paid unless it approves the deal.

Who Qualifies for the STV Inc. Washington Pay Transparency Settlement?
You may be in the class if you applied for a Washington-based (or qualifying remote) position with STV Incorporated or STV Construction, Inc. during the class period, the posting allegedly left out the wage scale or salary range, and you have not opted out. STV’s records identify potential class members, and the notice you received should show a Login ID, PIN and estimated payment.
You do not have to have been hired. The alleged violation happened at the job-posting stage, so rejected applicants and people who withdrew may qualify if the application and posting fit the class definition.
Third-party job sites. Whether an application through a recruiting platform counts depends on the class definition. If you are unsure, contact Simpluris at (888) 369-3780.
No proof of intent needed. The website does not require you to show STV hid the range on purpose. Claims are still verified, and the settlement does not find that STV broke the law.
What Is the John Milito Lawsuit Against STV Incorporated About?
John Milito sued on behalf of himself and other Washington applicants, alleging STV Incorporated and STV Construction advertised positions without the wage scale or salary range required by law. A posted range helps applicants decide whether a job is worth their time before they apply or interview. STV disputes the allegations, and the parties settled to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation.

What Does Washington’s Pay Transparency Law (RCW 49.58.110) Require?
RCW 49.58.110 took effect January 1, 2023, the same day the STV class period begins. Covered employers must put the wage scale or salary range, and a general description of benefits and other compensation, in each job posting. If the employer offers one fixed wage, the posting must state it. The law covers employers with 15 or more employees and applies to postings made directly or through a third party.
Why the class period ends July 26, 2025. Washington amended the law in 2025. For postings from July 27, 2025 through July 27, 2027, employers get a chance to correct certain violations before penalties or damages apply. The settlement covers only its defined period and does not decide how later postings are treated.
Remedies. The statute allows enforcement by the Washington Department of Labor & Industries and a private lawsuit, with statutory damages of at least $100 and up to $5,000 per violation plus attorneys’ fees for a prevailing claimant. Those amounts are not guaranteed in this settlement, which uses a negotiated fund and an equal-share formula.
Other Washington job-posting cases have settled recently. See Belcan Engineering Group $1.65M Pay Transparency Settlement, File a Claim by December 4, 2026, Emerald City Pizza $376,000 Job Posting Settlement, Washington Applicants Paid Automatically, Opt Out or Object by November 23, 2026 and Lily Transportation $456,000 Settlement, Deadline 11/23/2026. Each has its own defendant, class period and payment process, so eligibility in one does not carry over to another.
How Much Can Applicants Receive From the STV Settlement?
The website estimates $1,592.71 per eligible claimant. That is an estimate. The fund ranges from $281,211.87 to $415,000 depending on valid claims, and valid claimants share the net fund equally. Your final payment can differ if the number of valid claims or the approved deductions differ from the estimates behind your notice. The agreement also caps any individual payment at $5,000.
| Proposed allocation | Amount |
| Maximum settlement fund | $415,000 |
| Attorneys’ fees requested | $122,425 |
| Attorneys’ costs and expenses requested | Up to $2,500 |
| Class representative service award requested | $10,000 |
| Settlement administration costs | Up to $12,500 |
| Remainder | Shared equally among valid claimants |
These are requested or proposed amounts, and the judge can approve less. Per the settlement website, payments are treated as non-wage damages and reported on Form 1099. Tax treatment can depend on your circumstances, so this is not tax advice.

Your Options in the STV Settlement: Claim, Opt Out, Object or Do Nothing
| Option | What it means | Deadline |

| Opt out | No payment. You keep the right to pursue the same claims yourself. | Postmarked by December 8, 2026 |
| Object | You stay in the class and tell the court what you dislike about the deal. | Filed by December 8, 2026 |
| Do nothing | No payment, and you are generally bound by the release. | None |
To opt out, mail a written, signed and dated request with your full name, address and a clear statement that you want to be excluded to Milito v. STV Incorporated, et al., c/o Simpluris, P.O. The official FAQ lists what it must include: your identity, your reasons, your attorney if any, whether you plan to appear at the hearing, and any other settlement objections you or your lawyer filed in the past three years.
Declining to claim does not preserve your right to sue STV over the same posting allegations. Only a valid opt-out does that.
