What Is the Sony PlayStation Digital Games Lawsuit About?
The plaintiffs allege that Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC engaged in anticompetitive conduct designed to monopolize the PlayStation digital game market, causing consumers to pay more than they otherwise would have for certain games on the PlayStation Store. The claims are brought under federal antitrust law and certain state laws.

Who Qualifies for the Sony PlayStation Digital Games Settlement?
You are a settlement class member if, between April 1, 2019 and December 31, 2023, you bought through the PlayStation Store a digital game that meets all of these conditions:
- A game-specific voucher (GSV) for the game was available at retail before April 1, 2019. A GSV is a physical voucher or electronic code bought from a non-Sony retailer that lets a player download a specific game.
- At least 200 GSV redemptions were made before April 1, 2019.
- The game’s post-discount price rose by at least 50 cents when comparing January 1, 2017 to March 31, 2019 with April 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023.
The official settlement website posts a list of eligible games on its Court Documents page. Owning a PlayStation does not by itself make you eligible.
What Should Sony PlayStation Settlement Class Members Do Now?
If you have an active PSN account
You generally did not need to file a claim. After the court approves the settlement and permitted deductions are paid, the remaining amount is to be distributed to eligible class members’ PSN wallets under the plan of allocation. Do not assume credits have been issued: final approval is still pending.
If your PSN account was deactivated
You were required to contact the administrator by August 27, 2026, by phone at (877) 777-9145, by email at [email protected], or by mail to PSN Digital Game Settlement, P.O. Box 173046, Milwaukee, WI 53217. You needed to provide qualifying purchase information and a current address. That deadline has passed. If you missed it, contact the administrator to ask whether any late request will be accepted. Do not assume one will.
Can You Still Claim a Share of the Sony PlayStation Settlement?
Not under the published deadlines. The check request deadline (August 27, 2026), the opt-out deadline (July 2, 2026) and the objection deadline (July 2, 2026) have all passed. The settlement website’s September 2026 update focuses on the upcoming fairness hearing, not a new claim period.

Sony PlayStation Settlement Opt-Out and Objection Deadlines Have Passed
The deadline to exclude yourself from the settlement was July 2, 2026. The deadline to object was also July 2, 2026. If you did not opt out on time, you remain in the class and will be bound by the settlement’s releases and the court’s orders if the settlement is approved. What Happens at the October 15, 2026 Sony PlayStation Fairness Hearing?
The court will consider whether to approve:

- The plan for allocating the settlement amount to class members

- Service awards for the named plaintiffs
You are not required to attend, and class counsel will answer questions on your behalf. Anyone may attend and observe.
The settlement website’s September 2026 update says a class member who wants to appear at the hearing, in person or through their own lawyer, must file a Notice of Intent to Appear with the court no later than October 1, 2026 and mail it to Michael M. How Much Will Sony Pay, and Where Does the Money Go?
Sony has agreed to pay $7,850,000. If the court approves, class counsel may ask for:
- Attorneys’ fees of up to 25% of the settlement amount (up to $1,962,500)
- Reimbursement of reasonable costs and expenses
- Service awards totaling $30,000 for named plaintiffs Agustin Caccuri, Adrian Cendejas and Allen Neumark, paid from the settlement amount or from the attorneys’ fees
Administration expenses are also paid from the settlement amount. The remainder is divided among eligible class members under the plan of allocation. Class members do not pay fees or costs out of their own pockets. The settlement does not promise a fixed dollar amount, and your share depends on the allocation formula and your qualifying purchases.
When Will Sony PlayStation Settlement Payments Be Sent?
There is no confirmed payment date. The settlement has not received final approval as of September 28, 2026. The next step is the October 15 hearing.
