Juul Settlement Second Payment 2026, More Than 165,000 Claimants May Receive Additional Cash

If you already received and cashed a payment from the $300 million Juul class action settlement, a second payment may be heading your way. Class counsel filed a motion on February 26, 2026 to redistribute the remaining settlement funds to claimants who cashed their first checks — out of 843,451 approved claimants, 733,055 cashed their checks or accepted a digital payment, leaving $15,371,264.82 in remaining settlement funds. The redistribution is not confirmed yet, but if the court approves it, payments will go out automatically with no action required.

Why Is There a Second Payment?

When the first round of payments went out between October 2024 and May 2025, not every approved claimant cashed their check. Some people moved and missed their mail. Others discarded the envelope thinking it was junk. Whatever the reason, over $15 million sat unclaimed.

Rather than letting that money go unused or be donated to a third party, class counsel filed a motion asking the court to send it back to the people who actually participated — the 733,055 claimants who cashed or accepted their first payment.

How Much Will the Second Payment Be?

After setting aside $20,000 for tax obligations, approximately $15.35 million will be distributed among eligible claimants. The expected average second payment is about $92.48, with the largest individual payment potentially reaching $1,413.63.

Your exact amount depends on the same formula used for your first payment. Youth purchases were weighted four times higher, and purchases made between 2015 and 2018 were weighted twice as high as later purchases. So claimants who documented higher spending or early purchases will receive more than those who filed smaller undocumented claims.

Do You Need to Do Anything?

No. If you qualify, the payment comes to you automatically using the same method you chose for your first payment — whether that was PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, prepaid card, or a mailed check.

The one thing worth checking right now is whether your payment details are still current. If your email address, PayPal account, or mailing address has changed since you received your first payment, contact the settlement administrator through the official website at juulclassaction.com to update your information before payments go out.

Is the Second Payment Confirmed?

Not yet. Other parties in the case have until March 12, 2026 to respond to the motion, with replies to any objections due by March 19, 2026. Once the court approves the distribution order, the settlement administrator will begin issuing payments. No official payment date has been announced.

Courts routinely approve redistribution requests like this — sending leftover settlement money back to participating claimants is a standard practice and rarely faces serious opposition. If approved without delays, payments could realistically go out sometime in mid to late 2026.

Who Is Not Getting a Second Payment?

If you filed a valid claim but never cashed or accepted your first payment, you are not included in this redistribution. The second round covers only claimants who actively received their first payment between October 18, 2024 and May 30, 2025.

If the original claim deadline of February 5, 2024 passed without you filing, the claim window is permanently closed. However, separate Juul lawsuits covering personal injury and nicotine addiction claims are still active in some courts.

What Was the Original Juul Case About?

Juul Labs and Altria agreed to pay $300 million to settle claims that the companies misled consumers about the addictiveness and safety of Juul vaping products and unlawfully marketed them to minors. Both companies denied wrongdoing. First-round payments ranged from $32 to upwards of $4,500 per claim, depending largely on how much documentation each claimant provided.

This second payment is purely a redistribution of what was left over — it is not a new settlement and does not expand eligibility to anyone who did not already participate.
